So Penny's teeth cleaning was postponed until this Friday because my vet went to New Orleans to help the animals. I love that man!

Ugh, I'm so fucking glad I don't work with the public. I just hate them so much. I work with cats. The end.
I thought about working in vet offices and being a tech but I really am drawn to the rescue side of life. I even spent all day yesterday at the Spay/neuter Clinic in Seattle.

Today was one of those days that reminds you just how short life is. We have both been in expectation of "the call". I think we both suspected that she would get it before I did. My mother is the functioning alcoholic... her mother is the non-functioning variety drunk. She's already brain dead. Just on a machine to keep her body breathing... but she's gone.

I adore VSC. Our family vet recommended the place and we've already gone a bunch of times (cardiomyopathy kitty gave us several scares when we first brought her home).
It doesn't hurt (or does it?) that I totally have a crush on our ER vet.
At the symposium an ER vet at Alpine was saying she got into emergency rooms because in day practices she was having a hard time convincing people to care for their pets. She hoped in the dead of night it would be easier to treat aniamls. She said it was even harder. Her horror stories were intense.
By the way, in my entry when I said I don't know more than you, I actually meant you.
