I just want a fire in the fireplace... is that too much to ask? Just to take the chill out of another foggy day... like the day before. I'm tired of turning on the heaters... I can almost see the dollar signs dissapating into the drafty corners of my little apartment every time they kick on. Just a fire. What do you need for a fire? Wood. Fuel. Got it! Kindling? Made my own with my tiny hatchet! Paper? Sure! Lighter? ALWAYS!

Fucking cheap ass (actually EXPENSIVE ass) 7-11 bundle of firewood! The wood is so unseasoned and damp that the bitches won't catch. I've just spent an hour of my day building a fire that isn't going to happen. Grr... I'm a pro fire-maker... now I just feel incompetent. I'm just going to have to light a bunch of candles and get over it.

I love a lot of music, but I can always listen to Queen. I'm still baffled and amazed that only that short time ago when Freddie was still around in person that people didn't know he was gay. Seriously, was it that easy to stay in the closet? It just really impacts on me how much the world has changed in my lifetime... I suppose it can be the same for older generations as well, ie segregation, slavery, women's rights.... what do you think that children being born today will look back at and be baffled in amazement at.... Bush?

Hopefully they'll be amazed by the whole oil crisis because by the time they grow up the world will be using renewable energy. It's my hope anyway. Actually, my hope is that whatever happens between us getting to the renewable energy and where we are now is not as bloody and stupid as I think it will become.
