Can I say that your ex-husband is a jerk. How could he leave you and your son just because his son is more than one hand full? God damn, why do people quit when things get too hard? Why don't they learn to fight harder to deal with it? Sorry... I had to rant there.

You have my total sympathy... I will remember this story next time I see a kid acting like a brat in public and single parent trying to settle the child down. I might even help out.

Thanks for sharing your story. It sounds like you are very good mother and your son is lucky to have someone like you. It is unfortuate that your husband would leave his own flesh and blood. I do not want to pretend I know what it is like to raise a child with disablities. But I can't imagine leaving my wife and kid because of the disablities. The short of it is, you are a good person. You recognize the frustrations and roll with the punches. Most of us would not be able to do that. You inspire me to be a better person!
Hang in there with the meds. I am on meds for OCD and it has made all the difference in the world. My doctor keeps asking me if I want to "ween" off them and I refuse. I don't every want to go back to pre-meds.
