Do you remember in Office Space where Peter is telling the Bobs that he has 4 bosses that come down on him when ever there is a problem? That's my life at work. No Joke.
I realized this when I got my ass chewed by 4 different people for missing a voluntary seminar after work. Lemmie repeat, VOLUNTARY seminar. The last guy even threatned to fire me (and the other guy that missed the seminar) if I missed another one. I told them to make it manditory then. They said "no, you should just be there".
Infact, they reorganized my department and added 2 more people that can bitch at me. Half of the people have not even been at the company as long as I have.
One of the managers came by my cube and found myself and the other person in my cube working away 45 minutes after the seminar started. They know we were working and diddn't just skip it to go home early.
So it seems that my company has manditory voluntary meetings. If that's the way it is, fine. I will go to EVERY seminar they have even if it doesn't have anything to do with me. They can pay me to waste my time then.
