I was watching a youtuber who lives in a van. Might be down by the river, I didn't ask. She was taking questions and someone asked what she listens to on the road. She said "Mostly oldies. A lot of Hall & Oates." I died a little on the inside.

Similar experience about 15 years ago, one of my team came in the office & heard me listening to Public Enemy. He agreed old school hip hop was the best… I then introduced him to Grandmaster Flash! We still go to see concerts on occasion though he now has young kids to raise!

I know Hall & Oates is from the 70s. But their biggest record was 1984's Big Bam Boom and that's when they got on my radar. I know the 80s was a long time ago and I'll accept it as classic rock. It is a sliding scale, after all. But if 80s is "oldies", then what is 50s? The Scorpions were from the early 70s but didn't really hit it big until the 80s and nobody calls them oldies.
