what the hell was that?

As I took the second bite of my salad, something very small and red ran around the rim of my plate. I suspect it was a mite. It was probably in the bag of salad I had just opened. I threw it out and the salad topping because it is mostly red as well (could have been in there). I'm pissed because that was my snack for the night.
