Beware of Rebar in Ditches by Roadside when walking around drunk...

Got to see my first impalement. Yup! you read it right. A local woman decided to get drunk and go for a walk fell into a ditch by the roadside... and guess what was in the ditch that broke her fall and pierced her liver. YUP rebar!

In other new from the ER... I got to pick up a patient that fell on a nurse today. The patient had gotten out of bed (crawling over the bedrails) and was standing by the counter. When the nurse came over to put her back into the bed, the patient had a siezure and collapsed onto the nurse. Guess who just happened to be walking by? My luck huh? So I raced into the room and picked the woman off of the nurse and tried to put the woman back into bed.... of course the brakes on the bed we're not on and our first attempt at putting her into the bed causes the bed to roll to the other side of the room. Cue the inflooding of nurses to see me and a nurse holding a half naked siezing woman's arms and feet with the bed on the other side of the room. Hence I helped put her onto the bed and got the hell out of there. :-/

What a day....
