My friend Adam and I have a Theory about Downtown Athens. Every time we are downtown there is just one odd thing we see. One thing that reminds us that I live in one of the most original towns in all of America. Thus the Downtown Athens Theory was born.
So today I spent another 6 hours studying Chemistry. The last two at my local hangout BlueSky Coffeehouse. After about an hour I get a phone call from AJ. Damn I miss her voice and her presence. It always sooths me. So I take a break. Talk to AJ for a while and when I get up to leave who is sitting two tables down from me but Mike Stipe from REM. Mike Stipe!!! I just walked by, trying not to trip, I really was tempted to say hi but I decided to just leave him alone. It's good to see that he's back in Athens again. I know he loves it here.
So then on my way to my car, smoking my obligatory cigarette after studying I see on a bench a twin mattress. Just on the bench in the cold Athens rain. Yup not ONE but TWO more things to add to the Downtown Athens Theory. I should really start carrying my camera around again.
Other than that it's cold out!!!! Fucking cold and raining. Tonight is one of those nights that i know I will fall asleep wishing I had someone to curl up next to. Any takers?
