So I went out last night to a little promotion party for a couple of guys at work, and I was reminded again why I dislike going out generally speaking but here more than anywhere else. Too much smoke, too many drunks (not that I didn't imbibe, I did, but not to the point where I was uncontrollable), too loud. Meh, it happens. I have less than 6 months left here then it's off to the ROK for me. Less hot, more humid, but Summer is legitimately 3 months long versus the 5 months it tends to run here.
Okay, I don't like the weather and I don't like the town but there are perks to living, scratch that, being assigned here. I've got free tickets to the UFC fight tomorrow night. They were comped to my Squadron (my Chief apparently knows Randy Couture) and distributed to the worker bees. And me apparently. Oh, and the commander of one of the fighter squadrons we allow to break our jets seems to know Dana White, and he got about 24 tickets he's giving to us as well. Our Lt looked up the tickets online and we're sitting in $1,000 seats. This is the first and probably the last time I attend one of these fights, and if the main event wasn't Lesnar/Carwin I probably wouldn't be at this one.
