Something jumped out recently and kicked me square in the nostalgia.

1999 was ten years ago.

Movies like Fight Club, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Matrix, Austin Powers, Sleepy Hollow and Girl, Interrupted are all ten years old. So are albums like Californication, The Fragile, Make Yourself, Scenes from a Memory, The The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner, The Battle for LA and There is Nothing Left to Lose. None are really favourite albums anymore but I remember when they were fairly new, and now they could get ten year anniversary editions. Games like Ocarina of Time and Turok 2 are as old as I was when I first played them.

Just thought that was interesting and put a nice perspective on things.

In other news, I've been in a bit of a depressive spell lately. Which basically means that tomorrow, instead of buying a carton of beer in preparation for Australia Day, I'm going to rent the trashiest action movies I can find and get a bag of M&Ms. Fuckin aye.

Peace and love.

Edit 25/01/09 17:25:

Sorry if any of these are your favourite movies but here's the haul:

Blade II
Alien
Judge Dredd
Shoot 'em Up
Vampire Hunter D
Terminator 2

I tried to go for trashy action that still had cult appeal at least. And sorry
ellipsis, no Predator. Terminator 2 was already on the list, and I'm not sure how much Arnie I can handle in one week.

Everything you've said I completely agree with.

The author's a Mormon which explains several things. And the child, well, you'll see when you get there. The author tries to explain vampires and werewolves through genetics but she doesn't understand the scientific principles so it makes no sense. You'll laugh, seriously.

Another big problem is that NO-ONE IS DISCUSSING THESE BOOKS EXCEPT TEENS!!! And it's all: I love the books, how awesome, Edward is so HOT!!!!!!11111" etc etc and not any further discussion. I would actually be really happy if the books were placed on a reading list at high school because then people would discuss these things.
