Whilst looking for a suitable picture I came across an idea for a pair of tattoos for my calves. For some reason pretty much all my ideas for tattoos end up being of religious imagery. I guess there is more religious art than any other kind. Anyway, the idea was to have two archangels wrapped one around each calf but I don't want to overload on angels (they would be my 4th & 5th respectively). The way the wings are would work nicely round the calves and would be of strong enough imagery not to be lost wrapped around.

So I'm not going to do that but do like the idea of having matching images which lend themselves to the length and cylindricalness ( ? ) of the calves.

Actually I was listening to Lamb's 'Gabriel' when I had the idea about the archangel tattoos.

Maybe I'll look at some trad style stuff for inspiration.

Of course I need to finish my back and then I want to complete my half sleeve & probably get my forearms done.

Maybe something from Olde European folklore?

Hmmm.

Another idea could be iconic musicians. I was thinking I could have American ones wrapped in the Stars'n'Stripes as that would tie them together and would look really good but I couldn't think what I'd do for the other calf. It'd have to be something completely different because I'm not having Cliff Richard (icon of British music) tattoo'd on any part of my person. That would then make the S&S redundant as an image and so I'd lose a neat element of the "Iconic AMerican musicians" idea. Sod it.
