I have a feeling certain higher-ups in my company might be looking to shut my store down. From a financial point of view, the company probably wouldn't gain or lose anything by doing so. However, my Distric Manager has the most stores to manage in the country, and she's not happy about this at all. Two of the stores in the district have already been ousted. Is mine next? It wouldn't surprise me.
She came in to rip all of us management a new asshole. Something you have to understand is that yes, my store is the black sheep of the company. We do alot of sales, on par or better with everyone else, but we do it our own way. You can understand how well that goes over in a corporate envorinment. It seems companies do not like their employees to think for themselves, contrary to their HR posters asking for leadership.
Something interesting might come out of all this. My boss has 30 days to shape up. In the meantime, I'm doing my own private investigation into how other stores are treated, the complaints my DM hands down to us vs. the lack of suggestions on how to improve, and other such things. I have also taken it upon myself to take photos that display the companies lack of interest in keep our store looking good. My DM tries to blame the (quite frankly) shitty face of the store to the product not being hung on hangers properly. This is hardly the case. It has more to do with every edge of our 15 year old carpet being frayed, dirty walls that would need to be physicall washed (something none of us have the time to do), ceiling tiles with water spots all over them from a broken air conditioner, fitting room doors that are either falling appart or don't match the others...the list goes on. My arguement is this: "If you're going to come in and tell me how I'm not doing my job right every single time you visit the store, then it's about time we pointed out all of your own management mistakes." I'm viewing these hypocricy-laden visits as a form of harrassment from now on. What our DM doesn't realize is that I have been with the company longer than her, and alot of people in corporate remember me from my first stint. Some are even on my side, however I've promised not to name names if it all comes down to me against the machine.
I'm addicted to PayDay candy bars.
Please excuse errors, as there are probably a ton. Thats what I get for writing an entry after just waking up.

friedbanana105:
wow, i am imagining Sean Penn portraying you in the movie... walking into the meeting, throwing down a pile of documents and photographs, and bursting into an impassioned speech about corporate ineptness. then he unwraps a PayDay and stares menacingly at his challengers while munching on the tasty caramel and peanuts.
