I'll tell ya, it's days like today that make me glad I went back to school. After class, my philosophy professor and I chatted for a bit with Frank Sinatra as a soundtrack, and the conversation resulted in a change of thought for me.

Growth, particularly in the mental playing field, has always been of paramount importance to me. As a result, I desire experiences rather than things, especially in the material sense. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with devoting your life to a job that slowly kills you so you can buy a sweet car and house that you won't be able to enjoy due to stress from bills and a family...I'm just saying

Nah, I do catch myself wanting the material things still. I think it's natural for us to do that. But it's also natural to want to experience new things, and I think a lot of us have forgotten this. The richness of life tends to be found in the things that we can't seem to hold on to, for even memory often fades. Think about it; you're experiences effect who you are. You are not the car you drive. Tyler was on to something.
