Ever since the second season, my friends and I have participated in a "Survivor" pool ... twenty dollars per person, with the winner getting the $320 at the end of the season. No big deal, just a little something to "make it more interesting".

Well, for the second time in three seasons my person (as always, randomly picked out of a hat before the premiere) has been the first one voted off. I am officially jinxed when it comes to "Survivor" pools.

For those of you up on your "Survivor", here's my sad history:

Outback - Mike (the guy who fell into the fire)
Africa - Clarence (the guy caught stealing food on the first show)
Marquesas - Peter (first person voted off)
Thailand - Ken (the NYC cop ... longest I've lasted)
Amazon - Ryan (first person voted off)

Not a good track record ... I should've steered clear.
Oh well ... I remain ever the optimist.

In other news, on this fine Valentine's Day we're waiting on the first of two snowstorms to hit this weekend, and I have absolutely no food in this place. I'm going to have to deal with all of the assholes at the supermarket tomorrow who are in "pre-storm panic mode". Arrgh.

The good news? Phillies pitchers and catchers report to Clearwater today for the start of spring training.
