I got my playoff tickets in the mail yesterday.
I think I'd be even more psyched if the local media wasn't so Eaglecentric (yes, I just made up that word).
The local news tonight begins with 12 minutes on the Eagles and the game and the fans and the Vet and the Falcons and some Falcon players connections to the region. Then they break for commercial.
They come back with three minutes of death and destruction around the region, death and destruction around the world, and the impending war in the middle east. Throw in two minutes for weather (yeah, it's snowing again ... and cold ... don't forget your coat!) and then another break.
We come back to four more minutes of Eagles coverage, with a two second mention of the fact that the Flyers won their fourth straight. After that, a waterskiing squirrel and the lottery numbers.
That's the news in Philadelphia today.
Okay ... I'm a huge Eagles fan and all that ... season tickets, the whole nine ... BUT THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING YET!!! Can we hold off on the fucking Super Bowl hype until they've WON A FUCKING PLAYOFF GAME?!?
I realize I'm ranting, but the Philadelphia media pisses me off to no end ... way too negative when they have no need to be, but when that team does well they become the greatest thing to hit town since Ben Franklin.
I will now shut up and go play Tiger on the PS2.
