So I'm back. I had a lovely trip. Got to meet my latest nephew and my brother's girlfriend's family. She's Puerto Rican and I love her and her family is hilarious. Her mom and grandma kept calling us gringos and trying to talk to me in spanish, then realizing that I don't know any puerto rican spanish. The older nephew who is three, calls me Titi Erin, which supposedly means Aunt Erin. He also runs around doing a "booty dance" and singing that Gasolina song or I'm too sexy for my shirt by Right Said Fred, which is hysterical. He also calls my step mom Gringo Grammy. Kids really do say/do the darndest things. Aside from a crappy six hour car ride in the back of a truck with 3 pit bulls, it was a great trip.
The parties that are going to be had within the next two weeks are going to be ridiculous. Seriously, I don't know how I'm going to recover. I've been invited to Oakland by more than a few boys. I think I might go at some point this week when nothing is going on here. Of course I have to do some drinking with Blue Eyes this week. Who, by the way, drunk dialed me Saturday night while I was in NY. He just wanted to say hi and tell me how drunk he was. How sweet. And Sunday night, the night before school starts for the semester, there are going to be about 3-4 cases of beer here, plus a few handles of liquor. It's going to be nuts. Then the first thirsty thursday of the school year should be amazing, and with any luck, we won't get kicked out of our apartment within the first week of school. Then friday night we go to Blue Eyes' parents' house for his huge 21st birthday campout bash. Not to mention that probably every night starting tomorrow, I will be drinking, I just don't know all the details yet. It's a good thing my liver is young and strong. Because its going to go through a beating this semester. Haha, I love it.
Thanks to all who commented/left advice/encouragement on the previous post. I'm just going to go with the flow on all of that. Blue Eyes is great to have around in any context, so I'm going to make sure he knows I'm interested/available if he ever is at some point. If not, oh well. Bear (one of the boys inviting me to Oakland) has been showing interest lately. For instance, sending me angry text messages when I don't talk to him enough online. Hopefully I'll be going to see his new place Wednesday night. I'm so excited for life right now, whatever it may bring.
