So I was scheduled to shoot a SG set for a hopeful today at 3pm. I'm waiting at the location by 2:50. 3 o'clock comes. No model. 3:10 comes, no model. 3:30 comes, no model. I give up and go back to the studio. I check voicemail to see if she called. Nope. Check email to see if she emailed. Nope. Check SG, MM, etc. Nada. I get on MySpace and see she updated her status that she was going to hang out with her new boyfriend at work all afternoon. Nice.
I'm considering not shooting for SG in 09. Too many "hopefuls" just don't take it seriously at all. I'm running a business and I make much better money shooting family portraits or senior photos than I do shooting for SG. I do it because I enjoy and and because the models who actually do show up have been cool to work with. But, I can't keep blocking off half a day to shoot sets for girls who aren't going to show. I really wish I could figure out who is serious about wanting to be a Suicide Girl and is willing to put in the time to have a professional set made and who just wants to waste time.
