have you noticed the shifting winds lately. i talked to you yesterday....don't think you heard my words. i'm wondering about this game we play. pretending everything is ok...... so scared to think anything could be wrong. your little girl has grown up and now she is screaming for you to let her go.
i've been hiding my eyes from your glances. i've been looking at the clock a bit more seeing time running out. if you stayed up till dawn talking to me about you i would listen and never say a thing about me. if you knew my thoughts i wonder if you would want to run too. the door is open but the forces drawing me back have yet to release. i'll hold your hand all day if you want and stroke your face. i'll tell you what you need to hear to make you feel safe.
