Today I made time at work to take this (and yes that's me with LOOOOOOONG hair)........
Which I havn't worn all summer since it was so dingy. And turned it into this......
I freaking love to tye dye. I know it's really not "cool" anymore but, what other art form is so simple and so gratifying and so inexpensive and so much fun? I took a dress I wasn't wearing and with less than $6 worth of dye and rubber bands and about an hours work and turned it into something I can be proud to wear because... I made it!
And I love that I won't know what it looks like til it's done and I don't have complete control over exactly where the color ends up and how it blends. It makes it feel more like art because it takes on a life of it's own during the process.
Tommorrow is my day off with E. He worked his ass off in the heat today and has been asleep since 10 pm so I'm not sure if we will be hiking tommorow. Which I'm ok with. I wouldn't mind sitting in the AC watching movies all day as long as we finally get to spend some time together.
