Argh.

Ok, let's say I have two Internet buddies, for the sake of argument let's call them John and Katie (don't worry, neither are from here). I talk regualrly to both of them, and they talk to each other. Now they've just had their first phone conversation together and both of them talk to me individually about it.

Katie tells me he seems really nice, but she doubts she could fall for him, but she's sure he'll make a great boyfriend for someone someday. This, of course, in the universal language of women means he's completely fucked as she thinks he's a rampaging pussy. Meanwhile, John (who is probably the closer friend) tells me he thinks there's definite chemistry between the two of them and that he thinks he's falling for her. What's more, they're due to meet in the first week of december as they only live about two-and-a-half hours away.

So do I tell him not to get his hopes up? Do I tell her to make sure she doesn't inadvertently lead him on? Do I say nothing and let nature take it's course (the option I'm leading towards at the moment, although John expects me to feed him any inside info to help him out, which makes things tricky). Gah. Why can't I have any friends who have normal relationships?

In other news, I'm suffering a complete creative block at the moment. I was just about ready to drop down on my knees and thank my friends for the romantic dysfunction just because it gave me something to write about that wasn't just either a recounting of how my weekend went (jolly well thanks, had much fun and made a very wise choice of birthday gift for pearlbass, rest assured she wasn't the only one who enjoyed it) or another bit of quasi-intellectual navel-gazing about having nothing to write about. It's not even a block so much as it is a general apathy. I can't even be buggered to muster the thought required to make journal comments. You wouldn't believe how much effort it's taking to force myself to sit still, stop switching windows, and just bang something out (on the keyboard you sick fucks). I need to get out of this funk in a big way. Right, that's it, time to go get inspired somehow.

Additionally. I've been playing a lot of Halo 2 recently. My verdict? It's like making love to a beautiful, dangerous woman who rides you harder than Giant Haystacks on a mechanical bull and then jumps off and runs away just as you reach vinegar strokes.

No such thing as a normal relationship smile As for the block, blame the weather.
