Sigh, you know it's been a good weekend when you don't even get around to posting a journal about it till the tuesday. I was going to write this yesterday but ended up... uhhhh... 'resting my eyes' for a couple of minutes and the next thing I know, it's 4am and I have a pressing desire to pee.
So yeah, it's been a blisteringly good weekend. It started off on the friday, when I met up with Munch, Pearlbass and Vix for a Pitchshifter concert in the Astoria. I never actually started listening to Pitchshifter until after they split up, so I never got to listen to them live, which frustrated me. However, this was a special one-off gig to promote their upcoming DVD. Selling out? Eh, who cares, I'm just chuffed that I got to see them play. They were frigging fantastic live, the gig got a bit like a human pinball machine at points, but that was just part of the fun. Remind me to go dig up my albums and listen to them some more.
Then on the saturday it was Ladyinsane's birthday bonanza. After a day spent in the company of a bunch of collossal freaks in search of books, I toddled off to spend an evening in the company of a bunch of collossal freaks in search of booze, first stopping off at Hamleys in order to grab a present for the birthday girl. Lisa, I hope you realise how much I must love you to even think about braving Hamleys at 6pm on a saturday. I swear to unholy Christ, I had to stab five small children just to get through the door. Anyhow, I came out with the perfect gift, a green stuffed monster you can fist in the mouth. Hurrah. After that it was off to The Ship to commence merriment and revelry. It started off fairly low-key, with about six or seven people there, but the place soon filled up with a veritable throng of SGUK types, who I'm not even going to attempt to list at all. Safe to say that a large majority of my favourite people (and Traumatron) were in attendance. At some point my memory of the evening becomes somewhat hazy (perhaps I suffered some kind of sudden head injury?) but highlights would have to include:
-Ladyinsane whizzing around the pub on one rollerboot (thanks to musselman and partiallyblind
- Catching up with Nic and Traumatron but for nowhere near long enough. I'm saving my cash to come visit you guys again.
- Tobie and Ciel's masterful emergency straight kit for Lisa featuring a genius/deranged gingham dress which several people, myself included (I think), got shanghaied into wearing. I think there are pictures somewhere, I don't know. Bugger.
- Lots and lots of silly shouting.
- Snogging. There was lots of girlie snogging. I think even I managed to snog a few people, I can't even be sure anymore
munch thinks I snogged someone who he wasn't very happy abuot, but can't remember who. Well that's a fat lot of bloody use.
- Undoing my shirt on the way to the Crowbar so I could show Vix my cleavage.
- The Crowbar being extremely packed. Bah, for some reason I can handle that at The Ship, but not there. Maybe because the design of the place is so claustrophobic, with that ridiculously narrow passage by the bar opening up into the room with no windows where most of the room is.
- Stumbling out of the crowbar, getting nasty chicken, and acting like absolute twats, including SG stickering a shiny new rubbish truck and one of the Trafalgar Square lions. We had to pull Lisa down off the lion because she kept trying to mount it.
- Eventually getting back home about 4:30am and collapsing straight into bed.
Then on the sunday I hauled myself back out of bed again after all too little time in bed to meet up with Lisa, Siany, Munch and Nicky before Munch, Lisa and Siany went on to a Slayer and Slipknot concert \m/
\m/. After that me and Nicky went on to The Camden Tup to defend our pub quiz crown along with Pearlbass and Alex (whom some of you might know from Gin Panic). We were actually acquitting ourselves extremely well and were in the lead till we got to the final round whre we got fucked over by a picture round on cricketers
So. All in all a fairly eventful weekend. And now I'm going to have to go pimp someone out because of all the money I spent on booze
And yet I'm still going to go see Layer Cake with Munch tomorrow

Finally .... Sorry about the delay. I put the best pillow fight pics up in my photosets. I tried to load them on to the SGUK photosets but they kept failing. Any idea why?
