Well, it's been a couple of days now, so I suppose my obligatory write-up of the rather gargantuan Leeds meet is expected by now.

It started friday evening for me, as I was crashing over at TheNonStopDancer's pad to make my morning journey that much easier. Rousing myself at the truly ungodly hour of 7am, we managed to stumble our way to the station where we met Doplex, G1, greenthought and littleaardvark. It was at NonStop's suggestion that we get some carry-on for the train, so it's not exactly my proudest moment to announce that we started drinking that day at half 9 in the morning (Nonstop from a couple of bottles of wine, Doplex had himself a few cans of gin and tonic, the classy bastard, and I had a hipflask full of... well... what the fuck do you think I had in it?)

Well we eventually arrived in Leeds and ambled around town for a bit to kill time before we met the others. We almost managed to lose Nonstop, but unfortunately he found us again, we then found some kind of bizarre, mirror-universe Oxfam with a Goth section and a woman playing the violin and singing in the window. We also had a bit of a wander round the Corn Exchange, in front of which was a collection of goths and emo scene kids so large I thought their collected hatred of their parents might actually rip some kind of hole in space-time. Christ, they've already managed to distort reality to the degree that the local Oxfam has a goth window display.

After that it was along to MacDonalds where we met, well, a whole bunch of people. I won't name names as I'll probably miss people out. After that we all traipsed across town to the Dry Dock, an agreeable enough pub made out of a boat. It was also handily empty, which meant we were able to rearrange furniture at our will, perverting the pub's furniture to our own twisted designs. There then followed some introductions, agreeable conversation and shoving Tha_Matt out of the way of the quiz machine because he was crap at the card game that no-one else seemed to understand.

After we had suitably irked the barstaff we made our move to the next locale, in this case a not-actually-all-that-great-but-not-bad-and-hey-they-found-a-table-for-20-people restaurant called Vizzi's (or was it Zizzi's? I can't remember). They did, however, have an extremely cute blonde bespectacled waitress whom I wanted to take back to my hotel room (minus Tha_Matt and G1, obviously) and do rude things to. After that we managed to accidentally abandon Marky (for the second time, yikes blush ) on our way to the next destination, the Fab Cafe, a very agreeable rocking little pub on seemingly the opposite side of Leeds. We then spent a few hours boozing it up there which involved He-Man, giving Caramel a thorough dressing-down for making me find Thundercats porn for her, A straw-ful of something from Marky that made me feel both ill and wanting to start bouncing up and down on the sport, snorting sherbert and other such shennanigans, such as being perved on by Cadwell. I swear to God, if I had the ladies lech on me half as much as the guys seem to, I'd be a happy camper. Also, in a rather surreal moment the Darth Vader and Jedi Knight that I had seen hanging around outside the front of the Corn Exchange with the goths and emos (whisky tango foxtrot?) came into the pub and had quite possibly the worst lightsabre fight ever, concluding with them having a bit of a cuddle up against the DJ booth. Also, we stold Darth Vader's helmet, but gave it abck in the end. I only wish I had the presence of mind to put on my lucha mask and launcch myself screaming into the fray.

After that it was on to The Cockpit where my previously jovial mood was threatened by the fact that I had to wait half a sodding hour till I was able to dump my coat and get down to actually trying to have fun. I was very close to getting a serious strop on as I don't really like clubs at the best of times, much preferring somewhere where I can sit down and have a nice, quiet conversation with some-oh sweet fucking Christ I feel old.

Anyhow, I soon got over myself and got a drink. I then proceeded to dance myself into a horrible sweaty mess (yes ladies, I AM available) even though I only knew about 1 song in 3 and liked even fewer. I was also partially deafened by the soundsystem, not helped by the fact that we chose to stand right next to the speakers for some reason. I felt like a rhythmless dork next to many of my compatriots, Lissom and Caramel are foxy dancing vixens, mat8drb was dancing up averitable storm, cadwell, coldandwet and djsik weren't far behind, murakami projected an air of irresistably infectious enthusiasm and TheNonStopDancer was camp as ever. Of course, I can hardly complain as the DJ suddenly slipped 'Beat It' on and for some ungodly reason myself and Nonstop were suddenly compelled into some kind of intricate and dorkily choreographed dance routine.

Anyhow, after that I got to see both Tha_Matt AND G1 in their pants as we found ourselves sharing a room at the Travellodge a convenient 30 second's stumble away, ain't I lucky? The next day we roused outselves from slumber and trudged to a nearby Wetherspoons for a rather restrained pub lunch and then it was back onto the train for the journey home. Once back Nonstop and Doplex showed me the delights of cherry beer at the Portersomething pub and I finally stumbled home and collapsed into bed. A busy weekend all round. My thanks to all of you for making it rather lovely kiss

I knew that there was something odd about the people currently sat surrounding me in the library. I may have to run away screaming quietly.
