Right, well, as predicted, I'm tired of THAT nonsense. Don't worry all, just a little emo moment there. Sod it, let's have some music on, shall we?

Big Poppa Creamy's AudioGoodness

Dean Grey (American Edit) - Dr Who on Holiday: A mashup remix for you kind folks first of all. Dean Grey caused quite a stir on the blogosphere when his American Edit mashup album of GreenDay's latest garnered a swift cease and desist. You can find it floating around out there for download if your Google-Fu is adequate. These are what mashups should be, in my opinion. Not just laying the vocals of one track on top of another and yelling 'LOOK! LOOK! THEY MATCH!', but tearing songs apart and patching pieces together like some kind of hideous aural Frankenstein. Not quite the most out there of the lot (that would be American Jesus, a remix of American Idiot that makes a patchwork quilt out of the song and a hundred other bits and pieces, even Bon Jovi), Dr Who on Holiday takes Holiday as a base and splices in pieces of the KLFs 'Doctoring the Tardis' as well as a few other bits and bobs.

Drive-By Truckers - Decoration Day: And in a complete 180, have some gritty, soulful, deep south bar rock/country and western. I only heard the Drive-By Truckers recently, but was immediately impressed. Their music reeks of bitterness and poverty. Decoration Day is a mournful song about a family feud of the Hatfield/McCoy variety. Good stuff.

Stephen Lynch - If I Were Gay: A song tailor-made for SGUK, methinks. A sweet, touching, soulful song about the deep abiding (and most of all platonic, honest) love between two close friends.

You want some seriously groovy stuff?

Grab Jim Jarmusch's "Broken Flowers" soundtrack, it's brilliant. And watch the film, it's brilliant too, needless to say smile
