Down-Forwards+B, B, Forward-Forward-B, A+G, A+B+K, Back+B!

Sorry. I guess I've spent too much time on the PS2 recently as my brain seems to have re-wired itself to think purely in terms of Soul Calibur 3 moves. I swear, I think I've transcended into some kind of higher being expressely evolved for the purpose of putting boot to digitized ass. Me and my boy Kilik will make you our Soul Cali-bitch because that's how we roll.

I'mma gonna bust a mad nut all up in yo' punk-ass grill. Or something. Bitch.

Big Poppa Creamy's Audio Goodness

Well, it's about the fifth time or so I've done this, has anyone been turned on to any new bands or fallen in love with any new music because of anything I've posted? If you have, let me know, it'll warm the cockles of my otherwise black and shrivelled heart.

Godspeed You Black Emporer - Raise Your Skinny Fists Like Antennae to Heaven
Quite possibly one of the more long-winded titles so far, this was really the exact opposite of what I was expecting from the band name. I expected pretentious Indie wank, or possibly noodling Radiohead-esque deliberate obtusity. What I got instead was an immensely moving piece of music. Yet another instrumental piece, this one starts softly, with gentle strings and a mournful trumpet but gradually builds and builds to an almost orchestral climax that washes over you in waves (ooh, hark at me with the sexual imagery. I feel like a Pitchfork writer, all I need is to write a tenuous, navel-gazing extended metaphor for 2 pages)

Yoko Kanno - Run Rabbit Junk
For any anime fans out there, you probably already know that Yoko Kanno is a bloody musical genius. She's scored and soundtracked (is that even a verb?) a whole bunch of anime series, such as Noir, Macross, Cowboy Bebop (which was, in large part, based around it's music) and so on and her work is always phenomenal. This track comes from the soundtrack of Ghost in the Shell: Stand-Alone Complex which is, in itself, a damn fine anime series. The DVDs have been appearing recently and are well worth your time and money. For this series, she went in a kind of techno/rock direction and this track's a dirty, techy, hissy rock track with a chorus that makes me want to dance around the room.

Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts - Tank!
And to prove her complete adaptability, hre's another track from Yoko Kanno, this time playing with her band, The Seatbelts, which she formed specifically to do the soundtrack for Cowboy Bebop, an amazingly good Sci-fi anime series, the music from which later proved so popular she started touring with them. Tank! is the main theme from Cowboy Bebop and is a toe-tapping, head-bobbing, cigarette smoking in a dark corner of the club, bourbon-sipping, slipping out the back door of the speakeasy when the police raid the joint kind of bebop track. This one makes me wish I had a dame around so I could dance properly to this.

You Like CowBoy BeBop!
Squuueeeee!!!

Tank! is awesome, if just for the soprano sax solo. I've only got a few odd mp3, is there an album or such I can purchase with human currency?
