It's all about contrasts that make bumps and ditches into mountains and valleys. You've had a rough couple of weeks luv, so part of it (hopefully) is just the way that it is given extra meaning and impact from everything else. I hope that today has given you a bit of a break and you're feeling better. *hugs*
PS- Continuing along the contrast thing, you should clearly go out and do something purely and needlessly enjoyable for no other reason than to do it.

Ah, ice cream makes it all better!
And my new orchid arrived today. It smells incredibly musky and earthy. It makes me smile and brightens my day.
It's astonishing how something as trivial as a plant and ice cream can do that. I wish all of life were that easy.

It's amazing to me how the Earth blossoms into green (or somewhat green) mode when the weather turns a bit milder. I was outside looking at my butterfly garden and things are already starting to grow.

I like gardens, I'm lucky enough to live somewhere where its green year round. In winter it just rains off and on so things are Especially green hehe.

Hopefully the weekend will bring better tidings...I am having a fantastic week so far. I found out that a big publishing company wants to publish my lab manual, not just for my university, but perhaps for other universities. I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to hear that news. Less work for me (which was the point all along) as well as a publication credit.
