Birth control pills are a mixed blessing....they do wonders for controlling your nasty cramps, regulating your menses, preventing pregnancy and evening letting you skip months between periods if you want.
However, there are side effects up the wazoo. I haven't been able to find a pill that makes me feel "normal" without it having some kind of detrimental effect on my body. If it isn't wicked mood swings, it's weight gain or breast tenderness or breakthrough bleeding or a horrible rash that makes your face look like a mine field or [insert other complication here]. I guess I have no choice but to call my gyno and have him prescribe yet another type in hopes that this new pill may be "the one."
And then there's the whole helath insurnace shit you have to deal with. Why would they cover Viagra (a pill for old men to get boners) and not birth control pills (which obviously would prevent future health care)? It pisses me off.
I should just get my tubes tied instead.

Re: inusrance, sexuality is just about a man's pleasure, of course! And giving reproductive freedom to women might just encourage 'em, you know.
(I guess one shouldn't joke about patriarchy, but at a certain point, I don't know what else to do...)
