I've never listened to Johnny Cash much. Recently, I heard he did a remake of the Nine Inch Nails song "Hurt." I always thought he was a country singer with an affection for black clothing. However, I'm beginning to think he's more a folk singer than country.
Anyway, I've always loved NIN and was moved by "Hurt" when it was first released. Now, the lyrics of Reznor's song seem especially poignant coming from Johnny as he ages, gets closer to death and reflects on his life.
