Yesterday was a really great day. I slept until about noon, then remembered that there was an anti-war protest going on downtown. I logged on and checked the schedule: starting at 11 and going to the White House. So I headed to the White House.

At 1:30 nobody was there, so I waited and waited and began to get a bit disheartened. Then at 3 the march went by. And kept going by. And kept on going by. I joined up with it and shouted myself hoarse. We did a loop around the White House and then stopped. Somebody with a bullhorn made an announcement:

"The reason we're stopped here is that we're having a bit of a logistical problem. You see, the front of the march is running into the back of the march."

We had the White House completely surrounded with over two miles of marchers. It was pretty inspiring.

My favorite poster slogan: "Regime Change Begins at Home"

Then I went home and took a nap before heading off to the Q and Not U record release party. First up was Ink, who were hardly the second coming of the Candy Machine I was hoping for-- no pop hooks, much more dense and experimental. I was a bit disappointed, 'cause I LOVE and miss Candy Machine.

But Q and Not U more than made up for it. The show was amazing. They keep on switching everything up-- at one point they even played a sample of a song while they performed it karaoke style. I kept expecting everything to fall apart, but even with all the chaos and mad improvising they kept it tight. I'm really impressed with what they've become in the last few months.

And to answer my own question of the previous entry... I usually try to ignore the cat unless she starts meowing, but sometimes I feel a bit weird about it.

Isn't it weird when people suggest that you must be depressed when you don't go out much? I have this conversation at least once a month with at least one concerned individual:

concerned person: you don't leave your room very often...usually not more than twice a week, unless you count classes. You must be depressed.

me: i AM? I don't feel depressed. I feel happy!

person: well, you don't leave your room, so therefore you MUST be unhappy.

me: oh, okay (goes back to surfing SG)
