I'm not sure what the difference is between college and university in America. I do know that you can study contemporary folklore (which is academese for Urban Legends). I'm not sure if it constitutes the entirety of a major, but I know it's available, and I know people who have their PhD's in it.

Grandma's always have that ability. My mom and grandma have this superstition that if you give someone a present like a knife, or scissors or something that cuts. You have to give them a penny with it so it doesn't cut your relationship with them. I nearly crapped my pants when I heard that.
