Exam in my studio lab today... really easy stuff on using dynamic processors, etc. Wish me luck though!

Other than that I've been researching into getting a nice Mac Pro Tools set up. Costs a lot of loot though but I think after school if I get a job I'll be able to manage that.

Spoke to my friend Mike the other day about our noisecore project 8Bit Overdrive. Basically he has a ton of nice hardcore jazz inspired riffs ready to mesh into my collage of noises, beats, and soon to be cartoon samples. Many many many ideas are in the pot for us to use. I can't wait til I move back and we can go out and just record + practice the shit. After we have 4 songs fully pieced together we will go into the studio and I will mix it with my 'Mentor' Jason Dahl. (That is the plan now at least)

Other ideas are to start a small label with a focus on Japanoise, Digital Hardcore, and maybe E-Grind. If any of you are interested in any of that check out Einstenium - they have a lot of DIY 1 man drum machine bands of differing quality, etc. I myself just ordered some e-grind off of them.

Anyway, can't wait til the weekend as I get to go home and see my gal and maybe look at some nice gear at the music stores. Best wishes to everyone!

i have so much love for angela. i think arch enemy's sound definitly improved with her presence. and not just the singing.. different dynamics come about when you have a female in the band. i was so mad when i saw them last. i was surrounded by fat icky maiden fans (the stereotypical ones... the ones that make me and my friends look wierd cause we all still have our original hairlines...) that were all screaming shit like "show us you tits" and what have you. and yeah. i'd love to see angela all naked and what have you- i wont lie about that one, but there's a time and there's a place. she's up there to sing, not to strip you piece of shit. arghh... boys make me so mad sometimes. i just started to fuckin scream. the guy really didn't have much to say to me, but obviously didn't give a fuck what i was saying till i got my guy friends screaming at him as well. she's such an amazing singer and to yell something like show us your tits... oh god. i need to stop this rant before i start screaming again.
i'm all about the potatoe-core. i guess that's why when i decide to dress like a "girl" people make such a big fuss and make me want to dress even worse then my aforementioned disgruntled sack of potatoes.
oh and thanks for the niceness. i need that every once in awhile.
i'll have to check out in flames. have you heard the black dahlia murder? i like them a whole lot. even if they look emo. they're great though. if you haven't heard them you should really check them out.

Heh I'll look for Le Commensal next time I'm in TO... though TO seems so much easier to find good places to eat than Ottawa anyway!

The Green Door cookbook was about $20... seems a little expensive for a paperback thing, but it's worth it. That way, if you try something super good, you can make it at home for the next week. tongue

Good vegan food in Ottawa? Actually, right next to the Green Door smile The Wheat Berry is a neat little organic/mostly vegan store. Another great one (the biggest, too) is Natural Food Pantry on 126 York St, which is right in the market. Herb and Spice (375 Bank) is a little too posh (ie, expensive) but still good.
