Hello my still short list of friends.

I just got back to Iraq on return from R&R and I'm just not too excited about it! The first half of the deployment was the colder half, the highest hitting around 70 degrees, now I get to sit here and boil as the heat gets turned up to up to 140

my R&R went... terrible. The day I got home, I come to find out that morning my grandmother had fallen in to a seizure. My grandmother had in the recent months been under chemotherapy due to a cancerous tumor in her appendix. Apparently, the cancer spread and she then had two more tumors, one in her neck, and one in her head. They performed surgery on both tumors, and were removed successfully as far as they know. Shes currently undergoing more chemo every week. She barely remembers who I am at this point, and doesn't realize that I don't speak any Italian what-so-ever. So, I saw her under the not so greatest conditions, but at least I saw her. Things could have been worse, I guess.

Other than that my R&R was filled with drunken shenanigans and reminiscing about the past.

I'm pretty upset that I was told by this group "SGs for troops" that I was going to get a bad ass care package and it never came It happens though, every one has their own things going on.

Well, I guess I'll be back on her soon.
