Japanese (and the culture) really isn't that difficult. Just different. I've been learning as a hobby for about six years now and I think I am prepared for the culture shock of when I get there, somewhat anyway.

If I am accepted onto the course that I have in mind, I will be speding a whole year in Japan, which to me sounds amazingly exicting.

Yup, me too. Likea foot away and I can see, but not more. That would scare the crap out of me though, not being able to move my eye and having a laser shot at me. And yeah, I think they want you to wait till you're 25 or something? I don't know. I have astigmatism pretty bad too. Thank God for Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism, they're the only ones that seem to work even remotely well.
