What does the phrase, "Make your own way." mean to you?

Trapped by the needs of society.
Trapped by the demands of my body.
Trapped by my constant desire for growth.
Trapped by my lack of complacency.

I'm tired of fighting, and yet the war rages on.
I want to give up, but I am compelled to continue.
