How did that come to be?

I am getting better at small talk but i still mostly feel like im trying to run in knee deep wet cement. And its only a matter of time before it solidifies.
I like to listen to regular people on the bus and at school to figure out what they talk about. Mostly it seems to be gossip and discussing mutual friends. I rarely hear conversations between complete strangers.
