just when you thought it was getting better - it got worse again.

seems my mail never got sent on to me as requested and i therefore never got a "courtesy" notice from the kern county courts telling me i owed $10 for a fix-it ticket that i took care of back in december, and i never thought to inquire about a $10 fee since it wasn't referenced anywhere on my ticket and i never got anything in the mail about it, so when i got pulled over only because the lightbulb on my license plate was burnt out (!!! !!!), i was told that my license had been suspended since june 16th and i am no longer allowed to drive.

and no, they won't just let me pay the $10 fee because i have to go to court.

and no, they won't let me transfer the hearing to the county i now live in, 330 miles away, without appearing in person to request it be transferred. so, i'm fucked.

what's really weird is how i managed to be arrested, booked into jail, released from jail on bail, appear in court and be given another court date and yet, through all of that, none of the law enforcement people involved ever thought to tell me my license was suspended.

fuck - what all-powerful entity did i piss off?
