Finally a moment to check SG . . .

The last week has found me:
Doing all the rock work in my aquarium (not as easy as it sounds when the tank is deeper than my arm is long)

Building a loft for my bed (which now requires anyone wishing to sleep there to not be afraid of heights and have a 5ft vertical leap)...

Pardon me . . .

I am looking for something.

It is about half and inch cube, kind of fleshy and potentially bloody. You see, it is supposed to be attached to my finger but for some reason it is not.

Ugh . . .

At least the door got in last night.

Oh, and if any one wants a free show, I can't put...

Last night I became an Uncle! biggrin

I also got my behemouth of an aquarium inside with the assistance of Shawndaddy and his son. (surgicalsnack also deserves note for coming over and helping lift the 400lbs of glass out of my truck)

Apparently these two events occured within a minute of each other. That is kinda creepy.

Construction continues on the new flat. Tonight I...

Half of the place is painted, the new aquarium is bring picked up tonight and I just finished preparing the old tank for the move. I managed to get enough lighting up to make my way around, my bed in and even the closet sorted out.

I am tired.

What remains is building a loft, installing a sliding glass door where there is currently a...

AH! The chaos that follows a good move. I feel you on this one, I moved what must have been 4 households of stuff this weekend between my mom and her girlfriends two houses to make one house, her girlfriends brother's stuff, her other brother's daughters stuff and the stuff he was getting, and the stuff I had as well. It took 1 moving truck that required a CDL to operate, the biggest rental truck you can operate with out a CDL, and the biggest trailer that they rent and 3 days of non-stop manual labor. I feel like I had to go back to work to get away from all the crazyness that went with it. Now all thats left is getting everything unpacked and settled at my apartment while trying to work military hours (6-5) while doing homework and studying for my recertification, it will take a while. Good luck with the rest of the move!

I am covered in little speckles of paint and I only have the primer up. Somehow I need to get things set up to the point that I have somewhere to sleep tonight. My mattress is sitting strapped to the top of my truck in the back alley right now. I think I need another week . . . too bad I only have 24...

Your bed should be the most important thing. Move on from there.

Today I got up stupid early in the morning and drove out to the desert so I could climb around on a big steel structure and remove some big heavy probes. Considering I spend much of my time running around the office beating people over the head, it was a pleasant change.

The people who asked me to do this had no idea what they...

In the fight over whether I go to Alabama to support FEMA or stay here, it ended up as a split decision. I will be staying locally for the moment, except for a few trips to kick off the various phases of clean up and reconstruction.

This does come as a bit of a relief since the initial 30 day commitment would have interfered with...

It looks like I may be going out of town for a little while to assist in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. This is the part of my job that is not neat. I will find out in the next day or two.

It is amazing how quickly something as simple as a lock can change someone's attitude.

My roommate has gotten in to the habit of using my tools and putting them away dirty, putting them away in different places or just not putting them away. When he decided to invite a bunch of his buddies over to rebuild thier bikes I grumbled but when I went...
