Yep, already behind on the road trip. I am still in Philly.
Friday I headed up to NYC to have some fun. I woke up the next morning sick as a dog and did not make the trip back to Philly as planned. Regardless of the my desire not to sleep all day, I ended up doing so. Though I felt like crap, this turned out to be a good thing.
I woke up on Sunday feeling much better. I spent the whole day with an amazing person. We wandered about, we ate, we talked and then I caught the 9pm train back to Philly. I didn't want to leave, but we both had other places to be today.
Today both of us are feeling under the weather and it has blown both our schedules. At least medication has been secured for both of us . . . I just wish I were still in NYC to help out.
I still may make Cleveland tonight. This is the most important stop on the trip for me because that is where I grew up and also where my dad is buried. I have not been back since I moved to California three and a half years ago, so I am long overdue.
Every time I have gone back since I left in 1993 there have been significant changes, but yet so much has stayed the same. It amazes me how I can go to places aquaintences worked at while I was in high school and still find them working there. I guess I just embrace change more so than most.
It looks like it is time to pack and head for the road. Hopefully I will be able to update in Chicago Tuesday night, maybe Wednesday morning.
