I have people skills ... can't you see that .. what the hell is wrong with you people smile

What a busy day

Congrats on the Hot set Ari love

I almost forgot to mention that on the way home after D's at 4AM Jason and I decided to turn on the oldies and ended up having a Tommy Boy like moment rocking out to the sweet tunes. biggrin

Now there is officially nothing for me to sleep on here, except for the floor. Yippee whatever

I have not been able to get into any sort of routine since I have been back in Chicago. I feel like I am just floating around. It is fun, but not productive at all.

Only being able to keep what I can fit in my truck is really starting to mess with my head. There are things that I want to keep, but just cant. My 40 trophies, baseball cards, and books all need to go. These are things that mean a lot to me but serve no real purpose. It is probably better that I get rid of them since I am moving to start new and better life. smile

My Hero

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

The District of Michigan

In 1886, George Streeter, a circus proprietor and all-around hustler, ran a small watercraft aground on an offshore sandbar on the Near North Side. He claimed he was on his way to run guns to various Latin American revolutions, but once beached decided to stay.

Over the years, sediment filled in the gap between Streeter's boat and the shoreline, and he claimed the new land as his own. Christening it the District of Michigan, he pronounced himself free of local authority and owing allegiance only to the federal government.

The self-styled Captain Streeter spent decades trying to sell gullible Chicagoans real estate in the "deestrict," as he pronounced it. The city's social elite who lived in the nearby Gold Coast neighborhood weren't amused -- especially because Streeter also sold beer and whiskey, cleaning up on Sundays when taverns in Chicago were closed.

When the police tried to dislodge the grandiose squatter in 1899, he organized a phalanx of hobos to meet the constables' charge. His army deserted, but Streeter held on until he went to prison for killing an intruder who stumbled into his realm.

After a short sentence, Streeter returned, but the District of Michigan's days were numbered. Mayor "Big Bill" Thompson closed Streeter's operation, effectively annexing the district to Chicago. The captain is memorialized by the name he lent to a North Side neighborhood.

I am going to go to Riot Fest on Saturday (before Quenchers for the No Celebrating Birthday). Hope to see some of you there smile

Something to think about

They say two heads are better than one. Does this mean that men are better than women? wink
