I'm still having trouble adjusting to my new work schedule. It's pretty simple - 2 weeks a month I work from 9 AM to 1 PM, and the other two I work from 1-5PM. Well, you can probably imagine which hours I prefer working, since I am not really a morning person. The thing is, when I work mornings, I have to get up around 7 AM to be in Gaithersburg by 9 AM. Blah. And today was the start of 2 weeks or working mornings, ANDDDD I've been suffering from insomnia.
Today I called out so I could go back to bed. I'm not proud of it, but I've only ever done that once in a blue moon (the last time I can recall was eons ago). And hey, I got an extra 4 hours of sleep I would have otherwise missed out on.

I just set the ringtone on my phone to "Kids" by MGMT. I first discovered that song in a dance class I used to take, and it makes me very happy. Although I usually don't like it when people use actual songs as a ringtone, I have a feeling it will take me awhile to get sick of this one.

I did most of my Christmas shopping on Amazon.com today. Man, you can get fuckin' ANYTHING on there. I got not just books and CDs (my usual go-to Christmas presents), but beads to make a necklace with, candied violets, and whoopie cushions. The latter is easy to explain if you've seen the Muppet Movie.

I saw it at Thanksgiving and thought it was quite fun, and as usual, Amy Adams is adorable. I wanted to also see the Harold and Kumar Christmas movie, but it disappeared from theaters so quickly I didn't get a chance to see it. Did it bomb that bad? I am half-interested in checking out J. Edgar, because DiCaprio is a good actor and I'm curious about Hoover's life.

What movies are you guys into lately? What Christmas presents are you getting people?
