I guess some of you may recall that earlier this year, I was planning to open up a piercing room within a salon.

For my own reasons, I wound up deciding against doing that. And you know what? The salon went out of business. About 2 months ago.

I feel bad for the owner, who is a very nice woman and a friend of mine, but for my own part I am very relieved I did not go through with my plans.

I guess this has been a very bad year for small businesses, especially new ventures. I have faith that the new Obama administration is going to find a way to help Americans out of this economic crisis.
