New times call for new music. I am mad about the September issue of Paste magazine's mix CD, it has got lots of rocking artists. It's my favorite monthly mix I've gotten so far, although the other two got me into some pretty cool artists as well.

I also got the new Killers CD for my birthday, which is pretty awesome. I am also getting into Charlotte Martin's album Stromata, lately.
What music are you guys discovering and loving?

Things are really settling down since I got home yesterday morning. It is good to go to my dance classes, and eat and sleep at my house again. I need to buy new dance shoes. Since I took jazz as a pre-teen, jazz shoes have devolved. I own a pair and rarely use them, because they're not comfortable. I am thinking some black split sole ballet shoes would be awesome.
A million things have gotten done this past week, and I am tired. I'm planning on relaxing over the weekend and doing cleaning and organizing whenever I damn well want to. In the meantime, no alarm clocks! Rock.
If you live in the Philly area and wanna know where I'm moving, ask.
-----------------
I want to get a tattoo of the DC Metro map, in black, grey and white, on my back left shoulder blade. It has a lot of symbolism to me, and when I can afford it (or maybe for Christmas) I can do something like that. It is my compass, and I will always be a Washingtonian at heart. No matter where I'm living. The Metro can totally kick SEPTA's ass any day.
------------------
I have heard that Philly criminals seem to be more murder-happy than DC criminals. Plus, I am moving from the safest yuppietown imaginable right outside the border of NW DC (Think: diplomats. Doctors. Lawyers.) Granted, I have grown up street smart due to going to school, work, and socializing in every safe and unsafe neighborhood and town in the DC area.
However, I was not living alone. My new neighborhood is in a safe neighborhood, and I know which direction NOT to go into because I'm a couple of miles away from the ghetto. That is still better than a couple of blocks away. Still, shit happens, and so I'm preparing to be safe as a woman living alone in the city.
I am going to take some self defense classes, and I am also planning to take up running. I already carry pepper spray in my purse. I'm a pacifist and I hope to never need these things, but it's good to be prepared.
