back at Greedy today... doing random jobs, eating free food, chatting w/ guests, and playing a f'ton of Assassins Creed (which I can understand why its been getting bad reviews.... its b/c people are stupid, and don't want to play a game that requires you to worry about the social ramifications of your actions... <shrug> I love it, although I haven't finished it yet, so my opinion may change).... just as I was leaving work my Mom called to talk, and again I wasn't able to tell her that I can't make it home this xmas... I just don't want to disappoint her, and my not being able to go home makes me feel like a failure... but shes calling back tomorrow, and thats when I'll have this dreaded conversation...

then we will both be transient bums on xmas. i'll be here in ABQ curled up in bed with my dog, freezing my ass off, and lamenting the pomp and circumstance and the expectation for happiness and warmth that goes hand in hand with this wretched time of year. no, really. it'll be fun! wink i've damn near perfected my recipe for bourbon-spiked, hot apple cider. when you can't have family you better have booze.

i hope your ma takes the news alright and understands.
