Blog update. Check off of recent events.
I climbed Babo in a 24 hour push and worked out some neurosis on Kirk as the sun fell.
I had a full weekend of sleeping from 3 am to 3 pm each night from end of season partying.
I went to Flagstaff for 5 days for paid medical training. This was the biggest personal boondoggle ever. Fancy hotel rooms with a free open bar happy hour. Saw a lot of old friends expected and unexpected..
I moved out and drove to Portland in 3 days. I passed 200K on my van and seriously investigated getting a new vehicle but now am uncertain.
I'm gonna do something new and get a place in Portland and train commute to WA. I'm trying to move away from van living as I officially am right now.
Back to work in Marblemount tomorrow. A little apprehensive about the whole hike til you drop and possibly ever serious lone wolf crews. You never know the transition is the hardest. I like it all. I'm just realizing how fun and like minded the winter crews are.
I need to embrace the chainsaw. Come Thursday it's probably me and Charley Namewithheld up Thunder Basin for 7 days of choreographed labor and minimum talk. So well.
