-Yesterday I made a failed seduction attempt on a hot young antiques restorer. As I was getting out of my car I felt something biting me under my shirt. So, as casually as possible I put my hand up my shirt and squished the little blighter out of existence. IT WAS A FUCKING COCKROACH. I know this because of the smell that filled my car immediately after...eau de roach 
Off I go to seduce Mr I-Look-Hot-Holding-Power-Tools-Without-My-Shirt-On smelling like...poop.
And then I get served by the creepy shop assistant who seriously talks like Renfrew from Bram Stoker's Dracula "Yessssssss, we might be interessssssssssted in purchassssssssssing your wardrobe"
Plus he stares at you very intently. Usually around the breast area.
Why do I always get the creeps? Seriously, I am really tired of always being the girl who gets the creepy pervert guy.
Why can't I have someone like this:
I have just seen The Prestige and it was good...significantly different from the book (which is brilliant...full of secrets...it's a genuine gothic horror, but the horror is only revealed at the conclusion). David Bowie actually gave a passably good performance...he certainly has improved since Labyrinth and The Man Who Fell To Earth. Hugh Jackman was good in both of his roles...but Christian Bale's performance was amazing!
Scarlett Johanssen was unfortunately relegated to a sort of intellectual fluff role...the sort that is appealing only because she wears corsets and looks beautiful (which she can't help). It's a pity because she's a great actress as well as stunningly gorgeous and I think they could have made use of both.
