I lead a rockstar life because I get all the good without the bad!
Lots of days there's a ton of stuff that makes you wish for another life and yeah that happens to me too. But I'm so thankful that things are normally the reverse. I have never wanted for anything as a child or in my grown up life and in my profile, I mention my Most Humbling Moment as "marrying my best friend" because I get to lead a life of total decadence mixed in with responsibility. What can be better than having a husband who whispers in your ear what SG he'd love to see nibbling on your bits and you get to say "well what about this one" and it just adds to everything!
I had to drop Paul at the airport tonight and on my way home I was thinking about how awesome we have it. I played hooky to spend the day having wicked "fun" times, got some much needed country chores done around the house, met up for lunch with some good friends and then goofed off at the airport waiting for his flight.
I love the little unnoticed things in life...I love driving home at night and noticing the sky and how it looks over the fields, how the sound of corn in the wind makes things eery, how much I love seeing my 3 sheep out in the newly harvested fields and how I love my kitties sleeping at my feet.
I have a very good life
And I appreciate that not all do. As I was driving home from the airport, there was a woman asking for money along the intersection in a part of town that there normally isn't. I was gobsmacked at how many people helped her out. I of course gave her some money and we had a bit of a conversation and then I had to drive away because I was in the turning lane. About 5 mins down the road I realized that I had lunch leftovers and so I drove back and offered her half a warp.
I love the idea of "pay it forward". When I gave her money the first time she said thank you and I hope your goodness comes back. I replied that it always comes back when you give. That's why I drove back to see if she wanted some food and wished her well.
I hate that people are so consumed in their own lives that they forget about what others might be going through. Cuz really I've dealt with my dad dying, my mom going through finding out what a "lump" is and my husband gone to Afghanistan for 9 months.
Try and do 1 thing nice for someone each day and see how it goes. What's your favourite thing to do that's nice?
