The animal shelter that I work at sends their employees to get a series of rabies shots (three of them). This way, if we were to ever get bit or have contact with rabies from one of our animals - the series of shots we would go through is nothing compared to someone without any of the rabies vaccinations.

I did not want to get any of these shots because i'm not fond of putting something in my body that isn't t necessary. Though I decided to get them because my job really pressed it, plus they are about $120 or so a piece (so about $360 total). This way I wouldn't have to pay for the whole cost if I ever needed to get these shots for any reason. And we get a lot of feral and wild animals.

Well I just got off the phone with the Health Department. Whoever makes these batches of vaccines has to test them before they are sent out. One batch failed and it never left the building (was destroyed).

Then, they decided to do a recall on the two batches before the failed one was made and the two batches made after the failed one.

Guess who fucking received one of those shots? Yeah. So now they are mailing me a whole bunch of information and I might have to get two more shots. At least they said I didn't have to pay for it.

**Update. Ended up getting five shots total.
