i used to say his vocal stylings were that of a 16 year old boy who is hearing his unrequited love have sex with the football team in the next room.

then last night i heard a song that changed my mind. it reminded me of blair's cousin on the facts of life.

then i thought, yes, his vocal stylings are that of a comedian mimicing a deaf person (yes i know blair's cousin was really* a deaf "comedian"... this is an extension of that train of thought)

then i thought... he IS deaf. everything makes sense now.



don't hurt me, courdoroy pants people!



* so it seems that my memory of 80s sitcoms isnt as sharp as i thought it was. blair's cousin wasn't deaf, she had CP.

the ramifications of this... well, you can see where it could go. but i'm sticking with "conor oberst is deaf." pass it on.
