contradiction

HOORAY!!!!

I wrote a new piece, one that is rockin. I am ohgr-fying my vox on it. I also cut vox last night for a song that has been written for a while and is going to appear on the fetisch album.

Is it gay that I refer to my songs as "pieces"? Damn those years in the philharmonic.

Still no idea what or if I am doing for v-day. Still not mentioning it - it is a new tactic I have developed (or LACK of tactic) called "don't push it". Haha. My family as a general whole is decidedly unromantic, so I have no basis for expectation. My guy, however, is EXCEEDINGLY romantic. Vastly different than he was up until he moved out here.

I mean - really. This is how my parents got engaged:

My dad said, "What do you want for your birthday?"
My mom said "An engagment ring would be nice."
My dad said, "OK"

My sis's engagement?

My sis and guy went to the jewelry store. They looked around. She applied for credit. She decided that (and I quote) "If we can get it on credit, we should go ahead and do it." Her fiance shrugged his shoulders and she now has a beautifully understated round solitaire.

My mom told me that my dad was going to be out of town for v-day. I said "Wow, that sucks." She says "Hell, I don't care."

See, we are romantic MAVERICKS. Haha.

I did however get my guy a REALLY cool card. It is really symbolic of the day that I left CA when I was on my visit (wasn't my guy then, we were broken up for four years and on different coasts, for those who are new). We were at the subway, and at the last minute, he reached over and gave me this beautiful, intense kiss. We had wanted to do that the whole 4.5 days I was there, but refrained because he was "seeing" someone. I was horribly confused, but really really blown away and happy. He told me later that he remembers it well, and thinks about it a lot. Good stuff. We decided to get back together less than two weeks later, via phone and email.

miss_lady and g_oulet were around for that! What a ride.

My thought for the day: I want to get out. I guess grocery shopping will have to do.

Question of the Day: I met an old lady who swallowed a fly - why oh why did she swallow the fly?

Beats the fuck outta me. I have been mulling that over since gradeschool.

Wearing: my "goth exercise pants" as a friend called them, my sandman shirt, and socks. WOW. Same thing as last update...CREEPY.

What I am avoiding to bring you this update: nothing - amazing, eh?
