Well, I'm back in Edmonton. I'm hoping to get another assignment before the strike ends to cash in some more, but I don't know if that will happen. They reached one tentative agreement and the union voted it down by 53 votes out of almost 10000 votes cast. 4900 people didn't vote. It was a bizarre scenario, voting YES were people who thought it was a good deal or were just tired of not earning a paycheque and wanted to get back to work. Voting NO were hard liners who think it's a bad deal and want to keep striking AND union members that crossed the picket lines and worked because they thought it was a good deal, but want to keep the hardliners on strike because they're so unpleasant to work with. Did you follow that? Basically the two extremes voted together and the people in the middle voted the other way. Now they've reached another agreement and are going to vote by mail in vote, because there was a lot of intmidation going on at the meetings where they voted last time. Apparently normal rules for democracies don't apply to trade unions. We'll see how it goes this time.

So I went out and got myself waxed yesterday, 'cause I thought it would be sexy. I've developed a hideous rash with pustules thoughout it on my chest now, so I won't be taking my shirt off for weeks. Sigh.
