Fuck taxes.

Weeks ago, I received a notice in the mail saying one of my jobs last year had filed me with the wrong SSN. I had to write a form correcting it and sent it in. I waited for a response saying "Ok, it's cool. You can file now." Eventually I realized that, duh, it's the federal government, and went ahead and filed. I did it online like two weeks ago, and just today saw yesterday's paper while I was eating breakfast. One of the headlines: "Down to wire: it's time to file!"
I instinctively checked my file status online, just to be sure. Turns out it was accepted almost immediately, but I was supposed to submit my signature by mail one business day after it was accepted.
My entire body clicks into Panic mode. I start punching walls. My return was $917!!!
I talk to the help person, and they basically tell me I'm fine, just send it in, no problem. Which makes me think, why do they stress it being sent in one business day afterwards? The IRS are such bullies.
